The 2012 season is now here and we are looking forward to a great summer of fantastic polo. We have several new tournaments and the season is starting a little earlier, see the Fixtures page for details. We look forward to welcoming all our members, old and new, and visitors.
May 13 - Finally some polo! The rain stopped at last and we have had a lovely weekend of sunshine. Unfortunately the grounds were so wet that we were still not able to use them so Saturday saw several members head to BCA’s fantastic arena for chukkas. The ponies and players enjoyed a good run in this huge arena which gave everyone an opportunity to blow away the winter cobwebs. On Sunday BHPC members were invited to play a challenge match at Chalk Pit Farm, finally enabling a run out on the grass. The game was 2 goal level with many fast runs, although not all were intentional given this was the ponies first outing outdoors!! The players coped admirably with no tumbles and plenty of goals.
The forecast looks more promising for the forthcoming week so we hope for chukkas on Thursday evening and are likely to reschedule one of the cancelled tournaments for weekend 19th / 20th as this is currently a clear weekend in our fixture list. Keep an eye on your emails for information. Please remember to get your membership fees and HPA subs paid in plenty of time so you are eligible for chukkas / tournaments.
